Details

Air-operated cylinder diaphragm pumps

The CODIP air-operated cylinder diaphragm pump is an oscillating positive displacement pump in which the medium is housed in a double cylinder jacket for optimal safety. The pumped medium is surrounded by a jacketed inert liquid. This leads to gentle pumping and distribution of forces over the entire cylinder jacket and thus to optimal service life even under difficult operating conditions. Operating the pump with nitrogen as the drive medium is generally possible. This requires a completely closed and isolated environment with adequate ventilation at the installation site of the pump.
CODIP cylinder diaphragm pumps were developed to handle difficult pumping tasks with aggressive, abrasive and explosive chemicals. Viscosities of up to 25,000 mPas, maximum medium temperatures of up to 180 °C and maximum delivery pressures of up to 10 bar (150 psi) allow a wide field of applications in which safe pumping of environmentally hazardous, toxic and harmful liquids is ensured under maximum safety conditions.

Functional description

An automatic air control valve (F) transmits the pressure of the drive air to the drive diaphragm (D). The drive diaphragm (D) displaces the inert liquid (E), which contracts the cylinder diaphragm (B) and thereby closes the suction-side ball valve (C). At the same time the discharge-side ball valve (C) opens and medium is pumped into the discharge line. In the suction cycle, the drive diaphragm (D) returns automatically to its starting position, a vacuum is created and the cylinder diaphragm (B) relaxes. The discharge-side ball valve (C) closes, the suction-side ball valve (C) opens and pumped medium flows into the cylinder.
